  • Cocoa - ¼ cup
  • Yeast - 2 teaspoons
  • Beaten egg - 1
  • Sugar - 10 tablespoons
  • Salt - ¼ teaspoon
  • Vanilla extract - 1 drop
  • Room temperature butter - 3 tablespoons
  • Vegetable oil to fry - As needed
  • To prepare the frosting:
  • Powdered sugar - 1 ¼ cups
  • Cocoa - ¼ cup
  • Milk - 4 tablespoons
  • Vanilla extract - 2 teaspoons
  • Colored chocolate vermicelli to garnish - As needed

Instructions

To prepare the dough: in the Masterchef Gourmet stainless steel bowl, combine the flour with cocoa and salt.

Add the milk, yeast, egg, sugar and vanilla extract.

Mix the ingredients for 5 minutes using the beater.

Add the butter and beat for 2 minutes until the dough is smooth.

Take the dough out of the bowl and knead on a solid surface with your hands.

Cover the dough with plastic wrap and a towel. Leave aside to rise until doubled in size.

Tip the dough onto a solid surface and roll out to a thickness of about 2 cm.

Using a cup, cut the dough into large circles.

Using a smaller cup, make a hole in the center of each dough circle.

Place the doughnuts on a baking sheet and cover with a towel. Leave to rest on room temperature for 10 minutes.

Heat the oil in a deep frying pan.

Put a batch of the doughnuts and cook for 5 minutes on each side until done.

Remove the doughnuts and place on paper towels.

Turn off the heat and let the oil rest a bit (to avoid burning the rest of the doughnuts).

Reheat the oil and fry the rest of the doughnuts.

To prepare the frosting: in the Masterchef Gourmet stainless steel bowl mix the powdered sugar with cocoa.

Pour the milk gradually then the vanilla extract and mix using the beater. If the sauce is too thick, add 1 tablespoon of milk.

Allow the mixture to cool.

Pour the chocolate vermicelli in a plate.

Dip the top-side of the doughnuts in the sauce then decorate with chocolate vermicelli.
