Mohallabia cheesecake


For 4 people

  • To prepare the biscuits crust:‎
  • ‎300 g crushed biscuits‎
  • ‎3 tbsp melted butter
  • To prepare the cream cheese layer:‎
  • ‎1½ cups cream cheese
  • ‎1 tbsp powder sugar
  • ‎1 cup whipping cream
  • ‎½ tsp vanilla extract‎
  • To prepare the mohallabia layer:‎
  • ‎1 cup + 2 tbsp milk‎
  • ‎1 tbsp cornstarch‎
  • ‎2½ tbsp sugar‎
  • ‎1 tbsp rose water‎
  • To garnish:‎
  • Crushed pistachios
  • Orange blossom


To prepare the biscuits crust: In a bowl, combine crushed biscuits and melted butter.‎

Spread in a spring form pan and refrigerate for 2 hours.‎

To prepare the cream cheese layer: In the kitchen machine, combine cream cheese, ‎whipping cream, powder sugar and vanilla extract.‎

Whisk the mixture until it’s creamy and ingredients are combined. Spread on top of the ‎biscuits layer and refrigerate for 30 minutes.‎

To prepare the mohallabia layer: In a saucepan over medium-low heat, combine milk, ‎cornstarch and sugar.

Stir until the mixture is thick. ‎

Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in rose water and leave aside to cool for few ‎minutes.‎

Add the mohallabia mixture over the cream cheese layer. Refrigerate for 6 hours.‎

Garnish with orange blossom and crushed pistachios directly before serving.‎
