  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Instant yeast - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 2 teaspoons
  • Olive oil - 5 tablespoons
  • Lukewarm water - 1 ½ cups
  • To prepare the topping:
  • Sliced tomatoes - 2
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Thinly chopped garlic - 2 cloves
  • Fresh chopped basil - 8 leaves
  • Grated mozzarella cheese - 1 ½ cups
  • Grated parmesan cheese - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - To taste
  • Black pepper - To taste

To prepare the dough: in the Masterchef Gourmet stainless steel bowl, combine the flour with the sugar, instant yeast and salt.

Add 4 tablespoons of olive oil then pour the water. Knead the ingredients using the dough hook until the dough forms into a ball.

Drizzle the inside of a big bowl with 2 teaspoons of olive oil, then put the dough inside. Cover and let rest in a warm place for about an hour until doubled in volume.

Preheat the oven to 200°C.

Flatten the dough on a floured surface and shape into a large circle.

For the topping: brush the pizza dough with olive oil.

Spread the chopped garlic equally on top then sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.

Arrange the tomato slices evenly on top of the cheese to cover the pizza and season with salt and black pepper.

Add the chopped basil leaves on top.

Bake the pizza for 10-15 minutes until the cheese melts and the crust is golden.

Remove the pizza from the oven and sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Serve hot.
