3 hacks to master the art of cooking rice to perfection

Perfect rice should be fluffy and tender. It should not stick and must smell incredible. If you can’t seem to end up with these results all at once, follow these simple tips to prepare perfect rice every time.

Respect the rice-water ratio

For each cup of basmati or short grain rice, use 2 cups of water. If you’re cooking 1 cup of long grain rice, you should pair it with 2 2/3 cups of water. You can blend the result in Ultrablend + with banana, milk and cinnamon. You’ve got yourself a delicious rice pudding dessert!

Avoid over stirring

It’s tempting to stir rice every once and a while because you’re afraid it will stick. However, it’s better to give it one quick stir at the beginning to separate it. Over stirring can cause the rice to get sticky and mushy. When perfectly cooked, fluff it again with a fork then serve.

Cover enough

Let the rice cook for 15-18 minutes before you take off the lid. Also, avoid removing the lid too quickly or the rice will stick together. If your rice is ready before serving time, replace the lid with a kitchen towel so that it could absorb the excess moisture.
