Tips

Acerola comes from a small South American cherry and is especially rich in vitamin C, antioxidants, and antiinflammatories. It contains between 10 and 40 times more vitamin C than an orange. You can add some acerola powder to your sweet dishes, and it will boost your immune system. Vitamin C also helps the body absorb iron. Acerola and spirulina can have synergistic effects. If you haven't any acerola on hand, other foods that are rich in vitamin C include: fresh parsley, guava, cabbage, kiwi, pepper, and citrus fruits.
